Principal Duties and
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be the key player in a newly formed development team and support the IT Director in further development, maintenance and operations of the internally supported transportation management system (TMS).
The web based TMS covers all aspects of the transportation business, from order placement to shipment execution and financial reporting. It interfaces with various technologies, including ANSI X12 EDI with shippers and carriers.
The prospective candidate is among the best in the field: self-driven, goal-oriented, and is able to understand and troubleshoot complex systems with little or no guidance. He / She has excellent analytical skills, a broad knowledge of Open Source technologies with emphasis on the Linux environment, and the vision to apply these in a fast-paced business environment. In addition, the candidate ensures high quality standards, good communication skills, and the ability to lead and mentor a small team of junior programmers. Responsibilities:
Lead development and migration to a Java EE solution.
Analyze business processes and lead the development of new features and reports.
Identify performance bottlenecks and design solutions to assure system scalability.
Manage B2B Integration through EDI and web services.
Lead and mentor junior developers.
Work with business management to understand, analyze and create IT recommendations.
Qualifications:
BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
Minimum of 4 years of practical experience building web applications using Java EE technologies and MVC architecture, including servlets, JSP, JDBC and JSON.
Experience using one or more application servers like JBoss, Glassfish, Tomcat.
Knowledge of the Spring Framework, JUnit4, Mock Objects.
Excellent knowledge of web client-side technologies (HTML, Javascript, CSS, jQuery).
Excellent knowledge of Java development and build tools including Maven, Git, Jenkins.
Experience with the software development life cycle in particular the agile methodologies.
Experience using the LAMP stack in a production environment is a plus.
Minimum 2 years of MySQL experience.
Must have good knowledge of the Linux operating system.
